Privacy policy

This policy explains what information macOS Torrents keeps and why. In keeping with the rest of the site, I have tried to make it clear rather than long.

1. Information kept for every visitor

Like most websites, the server keeps request logs that include the IP address, browser type and pages requested. These logs are used for security and for finding the cause of problems. No cookies are set by the site for visitors who are not signed in.

2. Information kept for account holders

If you create an account, the site stores your display name, email address, a hashed password, your favorites, your comments and your notifications. Your password is never stored in a readable form.

3. Cookies

When you sign in, the site sets a session cookie, which keeps you signed in as you move between pages, and a sign-in marker, which lets the site recognize you on a later visit. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.

4. Comments

Comments are published only after moderation. During review, the moderator can see the comment, the display name, the email address on the account and the page where the comment was posted. Other visitors see only the comment and the display name.

5. Notifications

Notifications about updated programs appear on the site. The site does not send marketing email or newsletters.

6. Sharing of information

Your information is not sold or shared with advertisers, and the site does not use advertising trackers.

7. Deleting your information

To delete your account, your comments or both, email [email protected] from the address associated with your account.

8. Children

The site is not intended for children, and accounts for children are not knowingly maintained.

9. Changes to this policy

Any changes will be published on this page.
